Rochester Jobs

The last time I was looking for jobs in Rochester, it wasn't exactly like shooting fish in a barrel! It was a bit more like spearing fish in a pond. I felt like the best jobs in Rochester for me were the ones in the entertainment business; the jobs of a booking agent, or a live musician, preferably as a guitarist.

So, in my quest for one of the music jobs in Rochester, I found a live music agency that would book musicians for pop music gigs on weekends in groups of four to eight. After a few gigs, I was starting to think that this might not have been one of the best jobs in Rochester like I first thought it would. There were hours and hours spent between the sound check and the gig, waiting for the show to start. The music was not much fun either. So, I started to see if I could find some other music jobs in Rochester.

So far, I've had some success finding solo performance jobs in rochester, mostly in the pubs and cafes. The cafes prefer a more acoustic sound and the bars like the electric power trio. Of all the music jobs in Rochester that I've found, the most frequent has been with a cafe near a college, who has given me repeat jobs in Rochester for the past few months. What a nice experience!

The next music jobs in Rochester that I'm going to seek out will probably be similar to the jobs in Rochester that I've done thus far. There are a ton of cafes, bars, and performance outlets that I haven't tapped for gigs yet, so I'll check them next!

I can't wait to see what I come up with! Wish my luck in my never ending quest to pick up more gigs and make it work!
